On 16th September, 2021, the newly constructed building of Shree Bagmati Lower Secondary School, Liti Khola, Phaparbari, Makwanpur, built with the Government of India’s financial assistance of NRs. 8.97 Million was jointly inaugurated by Shri Nitesh Kumar, Consul General, the Consulate General of India in Birgunj on behalf of the Government of India and the District Coordination Committee, Makwanpur and School Management Committee and local representatives on behalf of the Government of Nepal.
The Government of India grant, under ‘Nepal-Bharat Development Cooperation’, was utilized for construction of double storey school building, including ten class rooms, furniture and sanitation facilities. The project was taken up as a High Impact Community Development Project under an Agreement between Government of India and Government of Nepal. Shree Bagmati Lower Secondary School was established in 2046 BS at Litti Khola (Bageri) in Makwanpur district as primary school and subsequently upgraded as lower secondary school in 2064 BS. At present, 355 students are enrolled in the school. The building is constructed in a manner which is conductive to the school needs and will boost learning environment for students. The Government of India's financial assistance for the construction of this school reflects the importance attached to enhancement of educational infrastructure by the Government of India and Nepal.
The inauguration of the school is a milestone under various activities undertaken by the Government of India to celebrate 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' (India@75) commemorating 75 year of India's independence.
