Miss Nepal Nikita Chandak to star in police thriller “Rajagunj” produced by Ram Babu Gurung.
Chandak, a native of Urlabari, was crowned Miss World Nepal in 2017. Since then she has modeled for brands like Coca-Cola, Huawei, and Yamaha Fascino. Recently, she starred in the movie The Shameless, directed by Konstantin Bojanov.

Nikita says her passion for performing began after participating in a school play during ninth grade. She has been committed to pursuing a career as a performer ever since. She expressed excitement and nervousness about acting in Rajagunj, “I am obviously excited and also a bit nervous to share the screen with veteran actors like Dayahang Rai and Asha Magarati.”
Deepak Rauniyar, the director behind the internationally acclaimed films “White Sun” and “Highway,” is directing the film. His previous works have earned numerous national and international awards and have been screened globally. White Sun also earned him a mention in The New York Times as one of “the 9 new directors you need to watch,” and best-selling Brazilian writer Paolo Coelho publicly praised the film. His new film Rajagunj is a race-against-time police thriller that will feature two women protagonists for the first time in Nepali cinema.

The filmmaker behind the hit movies “Kabaddi” and “Jaari” is producing “Rajagunj.” Gurung mentioned his excitement in a statement: “Over the last decade, Deepak has proved his creative merit. I have been friends with Deepak since our early days as filmmakers. I am so excited to be working with him finally. This film will be a milestone for Nepali cinema, and I am glad that this will increase the portfolio of Baasuri films.”

Aadi Films and Baasuri Films Production are presenting the film together, and shooting will commence on July 28th in Janakpur.

Additionally, the film will feature Richa Sharma, Pashupati Rai, Bijay Baral, Gaumaya Gurung, Ghanshyam Mishra, Aarti Mandal, and Pushpa Yadav alongside Magrati, Chandak, and Rai
